An ecumenical Christmas Memorial Service will be held at the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium on Sunday, December 10, at 2pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects to their loved ones during this Christmas period.
The 45 minute service, conducted by Rev. Jason Tugwell, will contain a number of readings, poems and carols. Deborah Morgan Lewis will be leading the singing.
Cabinet Member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Cllr Dan De'Ath, said: "This time of year can be particularly challenging for those who have lost a loved one and this welcoming service offers people of all faiths the opportunity to come together and remember those who have sadly passed."
Every year Cardiff's Bereavement Services team support a different charity and this year a collection in aid of Andys Man Club will take place during the service.
Andys Man Club is a men's suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. The charity aims to end the stigma surrounding men's mental health and help men through the power of conversation.
Memorial tags which can be placed on one of the Christmas Memorial trees in the Wenallt Chapel Courtyard are being sold in support of the charity, for a minimum donation of £2.00, in memory of a loved one.
The trees will remain in situ until ‘Twelfth Night.'
A live webstream of the service will be available for anybody unable to attend in person. A password will be required to access the webstream. For details, please contact the Bereavement Services Team on 029 2054 4820 or by emailingthornhillreception@cardiff.gov.uk
