A Cardiff council park is set for major improvement works in the New Year.
Works to improve Maindy (GelligaerStreet) Park will start on site January 2022with an anticipated opening date ahead of the Easter holiday.
The extensive park improvements include:
Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Peter Bradbury, said: "Thanks to your feedback to our online consultation in May 2021, we've developed really exciting plans which will hugely benefit local communities and children as well as our environment.
"We want Cardiff to be a Child Friendly City and having safe places to play like this are so important for children to remain happy and healthy. We're pleased to include play equipment, the natural play area and teen sport facilities which will be suitable for all age groups."
The park will need to be closed for the duration of the works, however access to the multi-use games area will remain open.
Following many comments on prohibiting access to dogs, the park won't be accessible to pets.
