Cardiff Council Update: 02 June

Here is the latest update from Cardiff Council, covering: Bayside Mass Vaccination Centre to continue as a walk in centre; vaccination totals for Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan; and Cardiff's COVID-19 case and test numbers.

Bayside Mass Vaccination Centre to continue as a walk in centre

Following the success of the vaccination walk in centre over the weekend, Bayside Mass Vaccination Centre will continue to encourage first dose walk in appointments until Sunday 6 June.

The four day trial over the bank holiday period saw 2,150 people turn up to receive the first dose of their COVID vaccine.

Anyone aged 18 and over who lives and works in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan is urged to attend Bayside MVC, based in the old Toys R Us building between 8.30am - 7.30pm to receive their first dose of the COVID vaccination. The site offers both the Pfizer and Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines.

As all people aged 18 and over have now received an invitation from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, they are reaching out to those that have not received an invite to attend the centre.

The walk in centre also provides an opportunity to speak to the vaccination team if you have any questions or concerns about receiving the vaccine.

People who are waiting for second doses of their vaccine will automatically receive an appointment via letter and text message 11 weeks after their first. If people have not received an invite by this date please call our booking line on 02921 841234.
