Date confirmed for the next Cardiff ‘Night Market’
Following the success of Cardiff Market’s first ever Night Market, which in just three hours saw more than 2000 people browsing the stalls of some of Cardiff’s most iconic traders, a date has been confirmed for the next market.

The ‘Christmas Things’ event will take place from 6pm-9pm on Thursday November 14th.  Full details of the evening have yet to be confirmed but visitors can expect to find many of their favourite stalls open for business, additional items and services on offer, and a sprinkling of night-time magic – including an 80s disco.

Cabinet Member for Investment and Development, Cllr Russell Goodway, said: “As well as playing an important role in supporting small local businesses the Market has the potential to become a unique destination, combining all that is good about the modern capital city that Cardiff has grown into, with the market’s Victorian heritage.

“Traders have been keen to build on the success of the first night market held earlier this summer and we’re pleased to able to support this. People say you can learn a lot about a city from its market – these events show Cardiff is clearly open for business, vibrant and looking to the future.”

The first Night Market, which took place in July, saw the Celtic Corner café transformed into ‘Buskers Corner’ and also featured music from the legendary Kellys Records and an art exhibition featuring portraits of some of the characters trading under the market’s impressive glass roof.

The event was hailed as a success by traders, with Paul Reeves of Mojo King, calling the night, “great fun,” with a “real party atmosphere” and Jeremy Phillips from Ffwrnes Pizza praising the way the night “showcased our market and its traders to new and existing customers.”
