Whitchurch Library bags Hoop award

 


A Cardiff library has been revealed as one of the best providers of kids' activities in the city byfamily activity site, Hoop.

 

Hoop surveyed 22,000 parents across the UK to compile a list of top activities for children across the country, with Whitchurch Library scooping the plaudits in the Best for Free Activities in Cardiff category.

 

The Hoop Awards celebrate the people and organisations that go above and beyond to entertain, educate and inspire children across Cardiff. Families vote for their favourite activities which helps other families identify the best of what Cardiff has to offer kids of all ages.   

 

Whitchurch Library was recognised for the excellent free activities available including Rhyme Times andEnglish and Welsh storytimes.

 

Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, Cllr Lynda Thorne, said: "This is great news for Whitchurch Library. We're delighted to have been recognised with this award and to know that our free activities for children are so well thought of by the people who attend the library.

 

"We're very grateful to the Friends group ‘AWEN' at Whitchurch who help facilitate and provide volunteers to support the events and activities we deliver in the library. This award recognises their important contribution too."

 

The Council offers free activities for children in its Hubs and libraries across the city.
