Cardiff International White Water is commended for work with war vets

MP StephenDoughtyvisited CIWW today (Friday 28, July) to commend the centre as a finest centre of excellence assisting injured war veterans within the community.

The centre has helped a number of injured veterans on their road to recovery providing supervised and assisted sports therapy in a safe environment. Grants from Help for Heroes has enabled the veterans to further develop their skills and mental health, with the group growing in numbers.

Neil Edward Jones, from the Cardiff Veterans Activity Centre has praised the staff and amenities at CIWW. He said: "Sports Therapy has a positive impact on mental health and CIWW is leading the way in assisting injured veterans regain confidence and self-esteem. I want to say a big thank you to CIWW, their staff are excellent, always welcoming us and even giving up their own time to paddle with us."
