"Cardiff is one of the UK's fastest growing creative sectors outside London. Currently we have over 3000 creative businesses in the city and over 15,000 people are employed in this sector.

"The Welsh Capital is home to the triple Emmy Award production Sherlock as well as leading BBC prime time productions Dr Who and Casualty.

"Most recently an imaginative eight-part series of ‘His Dark Materials' has been screened, which is a TV adaptation of Phillip Pullman's international bestselling fantasy trilogy which has been produced exclusively in Cardiff and will be shown on BBC One and Home Box Office.

"On Sunday October 27thand Monday October 28th,a scene will be filmed for an upcoming production called ‘Infinite', which is a large scale action film.

"The fact that Cardiff has been chosen as one of the filming locations in the UK for this film is great news for the city. Cardiff is now firmly established as a leading centre for screen production, we are sending a clear message to the industry that Cardiff is very much open for business in this sector."

"This production will involve the closure of Newport Road from the junction of Fitzalan Place to the junction with City Road for these two days. These dates have been chosen because it is during half term, when traffic on the highway network is significantly lower than usual.

"The filming site on Newport Road will be secured with security and traffic management will be put in place to re-route traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. Advance maps showing the diversion routes will be published through the Council's social media channels and signs will be put in place on site to notify people of the closure in advance.

"The Production has been engaging with local residents and businesses which are directly affected by the road closure to ensure they are able to enter and access their property.
