Remembrance Service at Cathays Cemetery
A remembrance service will take place at the Commonwealth War Graves Cross of Sacrifice in Cathays Cemetery on Tuesday 7th November.

The service, which will be conducted by the Reverend Lionel Fanthorpe, begins at 2pm and will include two minutes silence followed by a lone bugler playing the last post and reveille.

The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Cardiff will lead a wreath laying ceremony and a roll of honour will be read by children from Allensbank Primary School and Ysgol Mynydd Bychan alongside members of the Friends of Cathays Cemetery’s Walking for Health group.

Cabinet Member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Cllr Michael Michael, said:  “The brave men and women who gave their lives to help secure the freedoms we enjoy today deserve our respect and remembrance – this annual service serves as a tribute to their sacrifice.”

The service will be followed by refreshments.
