All residents are strongly encouraged to sign up to free alerts from the Council so they know their collection day through an email reminder. Further information on this service is available through the council's website -www.cardiff.gov.uk/collectionreminders.

Alternatively a winter green waste calendar can be downloaded through the following link -www.cardiff.gov.uk/recycling. Those without access to the internet are able to request the calendar via the C2C on 02920 872087.

From Sunday October 29th, there will also be changes to the operating hours to Lamby Way and Bessemer Close Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC). The operating hours for the Wedal Road facility will remain the same.

  • Wedal Road HWRC - Monday to Friday: 9.30am until 6.00pm. Weekends and bank holidays: 10.00am until 6.00pm

  • Lamby Way HWRC - Monday to Sunday: 9.30am until 6.00pm

  • Bessemer Close HWRC - Monday to Sunday: 9.30am until 6.00pm.

Following noise complaints from local residents living near Wedal Road HWRC, the Council has had to make some changes in the type of waste that can be accepted at this facility. Rubble and scrap metal can no longer be able to be brought to Wedal Road HWRC but can still be brought to both Lamby Way and Bessemer Close HWRC. In its place, residents are now able to bring mattresses and carpets to the Wedal Road site.
